How do I pace my runs with Moment?

Pacing your runs with Moment is easy. First, calculate your desired steps per minute. For example, if you would like to run an 8-minute mile, and your stride length is 4 feet on average, you would need (5280 / 4 / 8) = 165 steps each minute to stay on pace.

Then, create a metronome to pace your steps at that same speed in beats per minute:

  1. Tap the button or icon with a "+" (plus sign)
  2. Select "Metronome" as the item you would like to add
  3. You should see a text field with the label "New Metronome" - you can replace this text with "Running Pace"
  4. Select the desired beats per minute (BPM) for your metronome
  5. Press the save button in the top-right corner
